Dr Dre Headphone is considering selling its remaining stake in headphone maker Beats by Dr. Dre, a move that shows the acquisition hasn't generated much momentum for the embattled smartphone maker.

 The Dr Dre Beats Mixr comes in several colors, and my video review shows the green color version I purchased. The Mixr seems to be mostly metal, but some of the outer earcup or headband parts may be plastic. The fact that I can't tell which means it's pretty well made. The earpads are round, and the holes in the center over the drivers are 1.5 inches in diameter. So the earpads are on-ear, not around-ear. The headband clamp is pretty strong, but I got used to that the first day. The earpads push on the outer ear parts because of the clamping pressure, and some people may find them uncomfortable at first. I think most people who are used to headphones will adjust to the Mixr eventually and find it comfortable enough. The 4-ft. straight cable is detachable and single-side entry, but it can be plugged into either earcup. The other end for the computer or music player is an Apple-style right-angle miniplug. A second cable that's partly coiled is also provided, along with a very nice very small hard-shell carrycase.

The Headphones are primarily targeted towards Music Producers and Electronic Dance Music Specialists. You can find their predecessors, the RP-DH1200's endorsed and used by DJ Suketu out here in India. As such this is the Rolls-Royce of DJ Headphones. That certainly is an appropriate analogy considering the first thing that strikes you is the traditional shiny Silver large sized metallic speaker housing that guards the mammoth 50mm HD Drivers. Again, the extra large leather ear pads, and the swivel ear cups and extra durable build quality are great for the road. 

Amongst our favorite features aren't on the Headphone, but rather on the Headphone Cable. The RP-DJ1250's come with detachable cables, and there are 2 options to choose from. The first is the traditional Coiled - Cable that serves as the main workhorse, and can be securely detached and fastened from the Headphone at any point of time. The other on the other hand comes with in-line microphone and 3 button remote controller specifically made for the iPhone, iPad and iOS devices, which are a kind of reawakening of DJ Headphones to the phenomenal use of Smartphones and Tablets in Music Production. On the other hand, they are extremely handy to listen to your music when not performing on your iPhone and iPad, now that you can pick up and drop calls right from your Headphone! Phenomenal stuff for a Pro-DJ Production Headphone. 

Again, on the technical front, the Headphones can really pack a punch with their 50mm drivers, and wide Frequency Response from 5Hz - 30kHz. Their maximum input has been significantly beefed up to 3,500mW, which is an t incredible piece of product development and audio engineering. 

Prices at a slightly higher price that the DJ1205s, at MRP Rs. 14,999 / - these certainly dont seem very pricey for the major upgrades they have received. We would definitely hail these as the best DJ Headphones out there in India by a long shot.
